I had to leave the farm for a couple of days to attend my grand-aunt’s 80th birthday. I did bring my little crochet bag but did not get anything done! So I am pretty happy to be back and go back to working on my li’l creature with the googly eyes.
Another thread art (such a thing?) I dabble in is tatting. And this is my little travel tatting kit:

top opening with unfinished project

bottom opening with compartments filled with beads
This is actually a little plastic case that is easily available in the local stores around the country for maybe around $1.00. I’ve had this particular kit for 8 years. I carried it around with me when I was a Fine Arts freshman, and have held on to it ever since. Hooray for mini kits! Love, love, love them.
The shuttle in the photo is my favorite because it has detachable spools. that way I can have all my colors in different spools and only have to bring one shuttle (and my case really only fits one comfortably lol). Weird as this may seem, tatting shuttles are easy to find in fabric stores here! And I have never met anyone who tatts! And on a recent trip to another city last month, I even acquired tatting needles from this little shop in the mall. I still get a little happy feeling in my stomach everytime I find some crafting gear around here.
thank you so much for the welcome and the wonderful comments! it brightened my day
p.s. eve: thank you for posting it on crochetalong! yes, i was trying to post it and couldn’t figure out why it wouldn’t. thank you for the help!
I got a swap from a fellow tatter, she used them to decorate cards, very sweet. Congrats on the baby, take care, (your partner for the needle book), Carla
