Today is a wonderful day indeed. I am so excited to do the crochet along! Thank you Eve for letting me join the fun
.
For a little introduction, my name is Lia and I presently live in a ranch somewhere in the mountains of the Philippines. I lived in California for 3 years and went to college there (and stocked up on yarn and threads and so many wonderful bits and things!). I left California last December, on Christmas Day to come home and settle here.
I have been crocheting since I was 10 and I love to doodle little creatures from another world. I enjoy old craft books and everything crafty and a fan of so many crafty bloggers! And I think I have a miniscule obsession with thread and yarn.
It is very hard to get different kinds of yarns here in the Philippines, in fact I am only familiar with two kinds that are readily available (specially in remote areas and small cities). One kind is a synthetic yarn that is used for craft projects in the schools (too itchy and warm to wear in this tropical climate).
The other kind is not really yarn, it is Cannon 100% mercerised cotton crochet thread in number 8 or 10.

Although this may be the only material available for me in this Crochet Along, I look forward to working with it because it does come in hundreds of different shades and colors! Oh the joy of colors! It really is not so bad after all. Although I will be working with 7 steel crochet hook and all my renderings of the patterns available on the site will surely come out as miniatures, I am so looking forward to this.
Tonight I tried out the Two Peas In a Pod pattern from the Crochet Along site with my orange and yellow thread:

Now I wonder what it will morph into as the deadline comes along…
How cute your peas in a pod are. I also like to work with crochet thread, but I have never seen such pretty colors as the yellow and orange.

HI Lia,
Were you supposed to post this on the http://crochetalong.wordpress.com I found your other posts sitting in the saved docs… I have just posted it but you can obviously edit it if you are not happy with it…
